My editing style is inspired by the timeless aesthetics of film photography – light & airy, soft, and organic. I strive to create a style that will stand the test of time and trends - the type of photograph that your grandchildren will look back on and cherish. While photographing, I try to achieve a perfect balance of photojournalistic photography – capturing moments as they happen – and fine art photography – considering each shot like I am composing a work of art.
This definitely depends on the wedding! I find that typical weddings need a minimum of 8 hours. I love to provide coverage of each portion of the day – from the details, to getting ready, portraits of all the people involved in the wedding, the ceremony, and finally, the reception. Eight hours is generally the enough time to document everything, but depending on the wedding, I may suggest adding an additional hour or two to your package. I’m more than happy to chat with you about what I feel would be the perfect amount of coverage for your big day!
I average 75 to 100 photos per hour. For a wedding, you can expect to receive a minimum of 600 photos for 8 hours of coverage. I only deliver photos that I consider to be of the highest standards that match my style, so I do not provide raw images.
I personally do not include prints or albums in my packages, however, when you receive the link to your gallery, you will be able to purchase prints/albums directly from the gallery website - super simple and convenient! I recommend printing this route because it ensures high-quality prints with accurate coloring. I always deliver high-resolution images, so you are more than welcome to print elsewhere. However, I always recommend avoiding places like Target, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, or CVS, because they often produce very low-quality photos and can drastically alter the coloring.
I require a non-refundable 30% retainer to book a wedding package, with the remaining balance due no later than the day before the wedding. For portrait sessions, I require a 50% non-refundable retainer, with the remainder due no later than the day before the session.
For engagement and portrait sessions, I include 30 miles of travel in my base prices. If you would like to book a session that is more than 30 miles outside of my zip code (92127) I charge a fee of $.55 per mile of travel. For weddings, I include 50 miles of travel. Depending on the distance, some additional travel costs may be included, such as: mileage travel fees, flights, rental car, hotel stay, etc. Please contact me for more info!
Upon booking, I provide my clients with all the information they need! I send my wedding clients a 70 page magazine that includes tons of tips and info about the wedding photography experience, including info about what to wear to your engagement session! For portrait clients, I send a Style Guide with lots of information about picking the perfect location, picking outfits, and coordinating with family members. I always recommend sticking with neutral, soft colors, and avoiding ultra bright/bold colors and patterns. It’s always best to try to coordinate with family members instead of matching. For example, aim to stick within a similar color palette, but avoid wearing the same exact colors on top and bottom! I also recommend avoiding graphic tees.
