8. have you photographed at my venue before?

Maybe! Maybe not! At the end of the day, this is something that you do not need to worry about. I have worked at many venues and locations, all with very different backdrops, and I can quickly adapt and create beautiful images anywhere - even parking lots! That said, if I haven't worked at your venue before, I try my best to find a time before the big day to check it out, if possible.

I use a Canon R6 for my digital work. My backup digital cameras are Canon 5D Mark IVs. For my film work, I use a Mamiya 645 AFD.

For engagement and portrait sessions, I include 30 miles of travel in my base prices. If you would like to book a session that is more than 30 miles outside of my zip code (92127) I charge a fee of $.55 per mile of travel. For weddings, I include 50 miles of travel. Depending on the distance, some additional travel costs may be included, such as: mileage travel fees, flights, rental car, hotel stay, etc. Please contact me for more info!

I require a non-refundable 30% retainer to book a wedding package, with the remaining balance due no later than the day before the wedding. For portrait sessions, I require a 50% non-refundable retainer, with the remainder due no later than the day before the session.

I personally do not include prints or albums in my packages, however, when you receive the link to your gallery, you will be able to purchase prints/albums directly from the gallery website - super simple and convenient! I recommend printing this route because it ensures high-quality prints with accurate coloring. I always deliver the full resolution images, so you are more than welcome to print elsewhere. However, I always recommend avoiding places like Target, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, or CVS, because they often produce very low-quality photos, causing pixelation and/or drastically alter the coloring.

I average 75 - 100 photos per hour. For a wedding, you can expect to receive a minimum of 600 photos for 8 hours of coverage. I only deliver photos that I consider to be of the highest standards that match my style, so I do not provide raw images. For weddings, you can expect to receive your images within 4-5 weeks, depending on the time of year. Portrait sessions take 2-3 weeks.

This definitely depends on the wedding! I find that most weddings need an absolute minimum of 8 hours. I love to provide coverage of each portion of the day – from the details, to getting ready, portraits of all the people involved in the wedding, the ceremony, and finally, the reception. Eight hours is generally the enough time to document everything, with me leaving before the end of the reception. That said, depending on the wedding, I may suggest adding an additional hour or two to your package, especially if you want me to stay until the end. I’m more than happy to chat with you about what I feel would be the perfect amount of coverage for your big day!

My editing style is inspired by the timeless aesthetics of film photography – organic and color true to life. I strive to create a style that will stand the test of time and trends - the type of photograph that your grandchildren will look back on and cherish. I try to achieve a perfect balance of photojournalistic photography – capturing moments as they happen – and fine art photography – considering each shot like I am composing a work of art. During a wedding day, I will give various prompts throughout the day, while also documenting moments organically as the happen. During the reception, I most often stick with a documentary style approach as to not encroach on the most fun part of the day and time with your family. Of course, if you have any requests during the reception, I'm more than happy to capture more posed photos. It's incredibly important to me that I make the day reflective of what you want!
