A Colorful, Summer Embarcadero Marina Park North Wedding | San Diego, CA
[dropcap]I[/dropcap]t was the hottest day of the year in San Diego. I was prepared to be hot and sweaty all day, but we knew it wasn’t going to bother me one bit knowing what was ahead. I had the privilege of photographing Jean and Aaron’s gorgeous Marina Park wedding in Downtown San Diego. When I got to know the adorable couple at their Balboa Park engagement session, I knew that I was in for a treat on their wedding day.
Although it was scorching outside, and the wedding had to be built from scratch in the park, the day went SO smoothly! The sweet couple was also so relaxed! Their amazing vendors and family members did a beautiful job of creating a fairytale wedding location out of a blank canvas. Not that it was completely blank, because did I mention that the Marina Park has THE MOST AMAZING BACKDROP EVER?! The park overlooks the San Diego bay and Coronado bridge, and when sunset hit – talk about jaw-dropping!
The day began with their first look at the nearby Manchester Grand Hyatt hotel. I found an adorable building in the Seaport Village area for some of my favorite bride and groom portraits ever. (There was a baby blue door that spoke to me and I just couldn’t leave it). With such an idyllic ceremony and reception location, it was difficult for me to not immediately fall in love with this wedding. Near the end of the night, we were surprised with FIREWORKS over the bay that were for a nearby concert – seriously epic. Aaron and Jean, thank you for allowing me to be part of this magical day! And thank you for being so laid back and awesome!
