And with the blink of an eye, my little one is a THREE year old! I feel like it was yesterday that we were taking her portraits for her 2nd birthday. To keep the tradition going, we set out to an open field to capture some of my absolute favorite photos ever, her three year old portraits!
Today is her birthday. I spent last night browsing through these images and photos from her life, and found myself uncontrollably sobbing. Being a parent can be insanely challenging, but even at the end of one of those days of countless tantrums and difficult behavior, I find myself wanting to wake her up from her sleep so I can spend more time with her. She is the absolute light of my life. Here are some updates about my sweet girl.
It only took 2 years and 9 months, but she finally sleeps through the night. My body still hasn’t quite adjusted to not waking up throughout the night, but let me tell you… I am so grateful to sometimes actually feel rested when I wake up in the morning.
Evie is incredibly nurturing, sympathetic, and caring – she loves playing doctor and helping people. She is very girly and loves wearing dresses and pretending to be a princess while dancing and twirling around. Her current favorite things to watch are Puppy Dog Pals and How To Train Your Dragon.
She loves learning. Her favorite part of the day is when we do our “lessons.” She does really well with numbers, and we’re working on the alphabet. She is super into drawing people right now.
Her little British accent is finally starting to wear off. It kind of makes me sad, but I have to admit, it’s the cutest thing to hear her say words with the American hard R accent.
She is very much like me when she is around strangers – quiet and shy, but the exact opposite of me when she is around friendly faces – completely uninhibited, loud and spirited.
I’m finally accepting that she doesn’t look anything like me. I thought by now her blonde hair would start going brown, but I’ll just have to wait a little longer for people to not question if she’s my child.
Evie Grace, you are so loved by so many. Never change, little one.
