When the Chung family reached out to me to photograph their Hotel del Coronado family portraits while they were visiting San Diego, I was so excited to get back out to my favorite beach! Coronado beach is one of my absolute favorite locations because the beach is so expansive and the sand is so soft and white. It provides the perfect neutral backdrop to any session, and you know how I feel about neutrals! In just one location, you can walk from the iconic Hotel, to the dunes, the ocean, and even a rock jetty. A fun random fact: the sand dunes are man made and spell out “Coronado.”
Cindy picked the perfect outfits for their portrait session. I always recommend that my clients wear whites, tans, or other soft colors, as to not distract the eye from their faces or take away from the backdrop of the location. You’d never know, but we were in the middle of fire season, and unfortunately with the sky was polluted with smoke. However, it made for a very unique lighting situation, creating a beautiful golden hue, which I love. Enjoy some of my favorites from this Hotel del Coronado family portrait session!
