A Balboa Park Maternity Session | San Diego, CA

Balboa Park is one of my favorite locations in all of San Diego for portrait sessions. I have done countless engagement sessions there, but this was my first maternity session! Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of photographing Meagan’s 30th birthday cake smash (see it here – so fun!). I was so excited when she reached out to me to photograph yet another milestone in her life – welcoming her first child! Meagan is so naturally beautiful, so when she showed up in a stunning red maxi dress, I became even more excited to start photographing.

We hit all of my favorite spots throughout the park. We used tree with the most incredible, otherworldly roots, plus the park’s signature archways and architectural elements. Little did we know, the park was preparing for their Winter Nights event that was taking place the following day. Many of the locations  were taken up by large tents, stalls, and audio and lighting equipment, so I had to be extra intentional about my angles and cropping while photographing. I love how beautiful these images turned out, and hope you enjoy my first ever Balboa Park maternity session!
