Excited to share another session from the archives that was published on Cake & Lace – Paul & Desi’s intimate golden hour engagement session in the Santa Ysabel hills in east San Diego county was one to remember.

The sweet couple met through their church and mutual friends, and have been inseparable ever since. When he proposed, Paul set up a romantic picnic overlooking Carlsbad beach, where they shared each other’s company, enjoyed the view, and eventually asked for her hand in marriage. As we walked through the gorgeous golden fields on the day of this shoot, it was clear how in love they are, and how excited they are to get married!

Spending a very warm evening with Desi & Paul was an absolute blast, and I just love how the light and vibrant colors were captured on medium format film. Desi wore a beautiful light pink chiffon skirt that brought so much movement to the photos, and paired perfectly with the custom bouquet created by Amanda of Events by Condie. A stunning golden hour engagement was exactly what I needed!
