I will never tire of being invited back to document special milestones in clients’ lives, and this Balboa Park maternity session is no exception. I had the honor of photographing Katrina and Patrick’s wedding last year, so I was of course delighted when I heard that they were expecting their first child and asked me to photograph their maternity session! Katrina chose Balboa Park for their session, since it provides such a variety of backdrops, from a lush green garden, to the Italian renaissance style architecture of the Organ Pavilion. It truly is a unique, one stop shop in San Diego, perfect for portrait sessions!

Katrina’s second look with the epic flowing train was such a perfect addition to the grandeur arches and columns of the Pavilion, and I am obsessed with how the images turned out! Hope you enjoy this Balboa Park maternity session on medium format film.
